Hubble's 'cosmic redshift' of the cosmic signals raises question of a resulting redshift.

There are three known types of redshifts, - Doppler redshift, gravitational redshift and cosmological redshift.
The corresponding formulas for this redshift are
• Z = {λ(obs)-λ(rest)}/λ(rest);
• Z = Δλ/λ₀ and also
• Z = Δλ/λ₀,
Where, 
• Z denotes the redshift factor which represents the fractional change in wavelength;
• λ(obs) represents the observed wavelength of light;
• λ(rest) represents the rest wavelength of light;
• Δλ is the change in wavelength of light as observed;
• (λ₀) is the wavelength at the source.

The wavelength of a wave is presented as λ.
1. So wavelength of a wave can be enlarged naturally, mostly in three conditions known as redshift.
2. These conditions are -
(a) due to Doppler effect
(b) due to gravitational effect
(c) due to cosmic effect
I will describe them briefly below.
3. Explanation in gravitational effect:
When light leaves a gravitational well like the Sun, it spends its energy to leave the well, but since speed of light is constant, it cannot reduce its speed as it leaves the well (Sun) rather reduces its frequency, correspondingly increases its wavelength, and this is presented as λ, as such it gets red shifted in the electromagnetic spectrum, known as Einstein's redshift. Let's represent it with the symbol λ(e) - represent red-shifted wavelength as per Einstein model. - Lambda (λ) wavelength and (e) suffix ‘e’ representing Einstein (Einstein's redshift)
4. The light wave when passes a long distance through intergalactic space, - most of the space is not dominated by gravity but dark energy - as such space expands (such expansion is not possible within gravity dominated space like within galaxies.)
Such light passing intergalactic space subject to face unusual wavelength dilation due to stretching of the fabric of space (Einstein was unaware of this) and gets red-shifted wavelength known as red-shifting of light due to cosmic expansion - that Edwin Hubble discovered. So let us represent this new form of red-shifting of light's wavelength as λ(h), similar to the earlier symbolic but, by replacing Einstein's (e) as Hubble's (h) i.e. λ(h).
5. So a light signal, if emits from the Sun and passes long distance through intergalactic space, the same light signal will experience both kinds of red-shifting i.e. Einstein's gravitational red-shifting as well as Hubble's cosmic red-shifting, as a result the said red-shifting of the same light wave would subject to addition of two red-shifting said.
So this was my question symbolically presented as λ(h) + λ(e) => λ(r), as it questions addition of values of {λ(h) + λ(e)} - generally it is used as frequency modulation in the applications on Earth, and also considered as per it's energy level using Planck’s relationship E=hf. I have to confirm the actual application in this. So I’m wondering.

Abstract

Wavelength dilation due to relativistic effects results in error in the reading of clock time. It is the phase shift in frequency and corresponding enlargement in wavelength of oscillation; which occurs in any clock, between its relative locations, due to the relativistic effects or difference in gravitational potential, results error in the reading of clock time, wrongfully presented as time dilation.

1. Introduction

The equation of time dilation t՚ = t/√(1-v²/c²) where t՚ is dilated time, t proper time, v relativistic speed, and c speed of light in free space, is wrong.  

This is a conjectural equation based on the classical Doppler formula. The counter example such as the experimental results made herein disprove the conjectural equation of the time dilation as such; disprove time dilation as a whole.

Relativity adopts Minkowski spacetime that combines three-dimensional Euclidean space and fourth dimensional time into a fourth-dimensional manifold, wherein time is robbed of its independence, rather considered 'natural'. Relativity also conveys that the proper time is dependent on relativistic effects and expressed as t<t', where t' is dilated time. This expression contradicts the expression t=t' as in classical mechanics, where time is imaginary absolute.

2. A scientific misconception in time dilation

Real events invoke time. The error in the equation t՚ = t/√(1-v²/c²) is that the relativistic effects, such as speed or gravity of the real events, can never interact with the proper time (t) which is referred in the fourth dimension. This means, the real part of the equation {1/√(1-v²/c²)} cannot affect, nor interact  with the proper time (t) to get it enlarged and to get time dilation (t') as in the equation. The observations made on the effect of dark energy do not show anti-gravity, caused by dark energy, affects time in any manner, except causing enlargement in the wavelength due to expansion of space. It is naturally unauthorized and disprovable to enlarge the scale of proper time, instead of distortion in the wavelength of clock oscillation.

The distortions of wavelengths exactly correspond to time distortions; through the relationship is λ∝T, where λ denotes wavelength and T denotes period of oscillation of the wave. So that the relativistic effects, such as speed or gravitational potential difference, affects the clock mechanism and causes phase shift in the frequency and corresponding enlargement in the wavelength of the clock oscillation, and correspondingly results error in the reading of the clock time through the relationship λ∝T, but wrongfully perceived as time dilation.

The real events within space can never reach the fourth direction of time t, either through interaction or, by influence of the relativistic effects, such as speed or gravity. The events within space will not have natural reach to the direction of proper time t, so that eventual influences can never affect the proper time than its ideal succession, to get dilated time t'. The reading of time in a clock mechanism should always follow the order of the proper time; otherwise distortions would cause wrong reading in the clock mechanism. The dimension of time is considered unreal rather, conceptual.

It would be wrong to try modifying proper time as in the conjectural equation of time dilation. Relativistic effects can never interact with proper time to get time dilation՚. In addition to this, the idea of time dilation disobeys the prevailing scientific definition of time involving existence and events. Proper time should never be robbed of its independence and not held as 'natural' even in a four-dimensional continuum of space-time.  There is no time dilation anywhere, rather the wavelength dilation of the clock oscillation resulting in error in the reading of the clock time. Distortions of wavelengths exactly correspond to time distortions; as in the mathematical relationship λ∝T, where λ denotes wavelength and T denotes period of oscillation of the wave.

3. General Foundations:

(i) Time is called T, the period of oscillation, so that T = 2π/ω. The reciprocal of the period, or the frequency f, in oscillations per second, is given by f = 1/T = ω/2π.

(ii) Doppler Redshift is the change in frequency of a wave in relation to an observer who is moving relative to the wave source.

(iii) Time distortion always originates from wavelength distortion but the time dilation of special relativity is not understood from wavelength distortion and so it does not follow the general rules.

(iv) Special relativity does not escape the fundamental equivalence between wavelengths and time, which is much more general than special relativity.

(v) Distortions of wavelengths exactly correspond to time distortions λ∝T.

(vi) Time is the indefinite continued progress of existence and events in the past, present, and future regarded as a whole, succeeding in irreversible and uniformed succession, referred to in the fourth dimension above three spatial dimensions. Therefore, time is not what special relativity presents as in time dilation and there is no time in time dilation.

(vii) Time is an imperceptible fourth dimensional concept so protected from relativistic effects like speed or gravity, nor subject to real interference or influence or interaction with the cosmic events. The events rather invoke time.

(viii) The term cosmic time signifies a relationship between the time since the Big Bang and the events within the Universe. The distortion in proper time always originates from wavelength distortion, including in special relativity, and therefore proper time subject to synchronization with ideal time in near approximation, as done with the atomic clocks.

4. Experimental results:

Experiments made in electronic laboratories on piezoelectric crystal oscillators show that the wave corresponds to time shift due to relativistic effects.

We get the wavelength λ of a wave is directly proportional to the time period T of the wave, that is λ∝T is derived from the wave equation f = 1/T = c/λ, where c is constant in free space.

Whereas, the time interval T(deg) for 1° of phase is inversely proportional to the frequency (f). We get a wave corresponding to the time shift.

For example, 1° phase shift on a 5 MHz wave corresponds to a time shift of 555 picoseconds (ps). The proof is:

We know, 1° phase shift = T/360.

As T=1/f,

1° phase shift = T/360 = (1/f)/360.

For a wave of frequency f = 5 MHz, we get the phase shift (in degree°)

= (1/5000000)/360

= (5.55x10^-10)

= 555 ps.

Therefore, for 1° phase shift for a wave having wavelength λ = 59.95m, and frequency f = 5 MHz, the time shift (time delay) Δt = 555 ps (approx).

Moreover, for 360° phase shift or, 1 complete cycle for a wave having frequency 1Hz (of a 9192631770 Hz wave); the time shift (time delay) 

Δt = 0.0000001087827757077666 ms (approx).

Time shift of the caesium-133 atomic clock in the GPS satellite in space:

For 1455.50003025° phase shift (or, 4.043055639583333 cycles) of a 9192631770 Hz wave; time shifts (time delays) 

Δt = 0.0000004398148148148148 ms (approx) or, 38 microsecond time is taken per day.

5. Conclusion:

The wavelength dilation of the clock oscillation due to relativistic effects, or gravitational potential difference on the clock mechanism results in corresponding error in the reading of time in the clock, wrongfully presented as time dilation. Time dilation is rather wavelength dilation.

Time, its relationship and some of its features:


  1. Time is the indefinite continued progress of existence and events in the past, present, and future regarded as a whole, succeeds in irreversible, uniformed succession, referred to in fourth dimension, above three spatial dimensions.
  1. Time is called T, the period of oscillation, so that ωT = 2π, or T = 2π/ω.  The reciprocal of the period, or the frequency f, in oscillations per second, is given by f = 1/T = ω/2π.
  1. Frequency (f) and time interval (t): The time interval for 1° of phase is inversely proportional to the frequency. If the frequency of a signal is given by f, then the time t (deg), in seconds, corresponding to 1° of phase is t (deg)  = 1/(360f) = t/360. Therefore, a 1° phase shift on a 5 MHz signal corresponds to a time shift of 555 picoseconds (ps).
  1. The events invoke time, when time is independent from eventual influences as such; free from all fundamental interactions. Real events Invoke conceptual time.
  1. In simple term, time is the occurrences of events. But 'events' need not be substituted as 'time' or vice versa.
  1. A clock and time are two different considerations. A clock does have mass but time doesn't.
  1. Existential events are necessary for time to exist. Time would be meaningless even for an existence but without events. There is existence of enormous mass and gravity in the core of a black hole, however, since there is no event; so time is a meaningless proposition there in the core of a black hole. Absence of event cause no time in the core of a black hole.
  1. The conceptual time is irreversible in succession and uniformed in scale. In case of a clock dial; sixty uniformed divisions of seconds need to be within a circle of 360° exactly, it cannot be >360° to accommodate time dilation, nor can be <360° to accommodate time reduction.

Equality before law and the educated persons registered with labour department:

When pay scale and benefits of Govt. employees are effective in commensurate to the Labour Law, so that, to secure equality before law, the Govt. as well as the learned labour Courts need to secure, the educated persons registered with the labour department, remuneration/income at per the payment structure/remuneration of the Govt. employees commensurate to the labour law, to those persons denied Govt. employment but engaged themselves in private employment or self-emplyment in the public.

The equality before law certainly applicable to all the educated persons registered with the labour department irrespective of the Govt. employees, private employees or the self-employed in the public. A fundamental right.

The objective of said registration is to secure income as per the occupational status and education as available in labour law.

Dimensions, space and time:

Dimension is  a measurable extent of a particular kind, such as length, breadth, depth, or height.

There are two kinds of dimensions
1. Perceptible dimensions:
viz. length, breadth and depth - these are dimensions of space and considered as real dimensions, interact able in reality.

2. Imperceptible dimensions: all dimensions above the dimensions of space as well as dimension below spatial dimension, these dimensions are not interact able by reality, i.e. anything occupying space or by space itself. Moreover, imperceptible dimensions are conceptual dimensions, not influence-able nor interact-able by reality,  as per the mathematical rules of dimensions.

3. Time itself thought to be occupying imperceptible dimension, above spatial dimensions, not interact-able nor influence-able by anything within or by spatial dimensions. Moreover, time is cosmic time, succeeds in irreversible, uniformed succession.

4. Time and space are different in characters, one is concept and the other is real respectively.

The clock represents real time in near approximation and reads by the order of conceptual cosmic time, and the clock and time - these two are different altogether.

Time in presence of gravity:

The concept of time is relative to the events; referred as in imperceptible fourth dimension, such a concept naturally rises within the Human minds as an inevitable consequence of existential events within perceptible three spatial dimensions.

Ancient Indian and Greek philosophers were among the first to question time as a mysterious concept. Ever since Human beings existed, they have always tried to make sense of the Universe, accordingly, conceptualised time by observing the events in the nature; as such they have used archaic devices like, candle clock, sundial, water clock, sand clock etc.

Nowadays, clocks all over the world are based on seconds, minutes, and hours. The first mechanical clock said to have invented in 1275 by replacing archaic devices, and in 1656 first pendulum clock was made. The quartz clock was invented in 1927 and the atomic clock in 1948.  

Time is now defined as “the indefinite continued progress of existence and events in the past, present, and future regarded as a whole in irreversible succession, referred in fourth dimension above three spatial dimensions.[Ref1. Wikipedia – Time.]

Time standard specifies the method for measuring divisions of time i.e. a time scale, newer time standard is based on atomic time as per caesium atomic clock. The standard describes the second is equal to the duration of 9,192,631,770 periods of the radiation corresponding to the transition between the two hyperfine levels of the unperturbed ground state of the caesium-133 atom.

“The second, symbol s, is the SI unit of time, defined by taking the fixed numerical value of the caesium frequency, the unperturbed ground-state hyperfine transition frequency of the caesium-133 atom, to be 9,192,631,770 when expressed in the unit Hz, which is equal to s^–1.” [Ref2. The international reference time scale (UTC) - SI base unit: second (s).]

i.            Time is called T, the period of oscillation, so that ωT = 2π, or T = 2π/ω.  The reciprocal of the period, or the frequency f, in oscillations per second, is given by f = 1/T = ω/2π.

ii.            Frequency (f) and time interval (t): The time interval for 1° of phase is inversely proportional to the frequency. If the frequency of a signal is given by f, then the time t(deg) (in seconds) corresponding to 1° of phase is t(deg)  = 1/(360f) = t/360. Therefore, a 1° phase shift on a 5 MHz signal corresponds to a time shift of 555 picoseconds (ps).

iii.            The energy equation is a direct relationship between frequency (f) and energy (E) because as frequency increases, so does energy, as described by the equation E=hf. This is possible because (h) is Planck constant.

iv.            Thus, equivalently, the relationship between the electromagnetic energy (E) and the wavelength (λ) of electromagnetic wave is an inverse relationship, as described by the equation E=hc/λ where h is Planck's constant and c is constant as the speed of light.

v.            Since wave frequency (f) is inversely proportional to the period of the wave f=1/t and also inversely proportional to its wavelength (f=c/λ); and thus, the wavelength (λ) of a wave is directly proportional to the time period (t) of the wave derives the equation λt where c is constant, we get the wave corresponds to time shift, e.g.

1° phase shift on a 5 MHz wave corresponds to a time shift of 555 picoseconds (ps). 

t=1/f; f = 5000000 Hz; 1° phase shift = t/360. 

t (deg) = (1/f)/360 = (1/5000000)/360 = (5.55x10^-10) = 555 ps.

·        phase shift for a 59.95 m wavelength (λ), f (5 MHz), time shifts (time delays Δt) aprox. 555 ps.

·        90° phase shift for a 59.95 m wavelength (λ), f (5 MHz), time shifts (time delays Δt) aprox. 50000 ps.

·        360° phase shift for a 59.95 m wavelength (λ), f (5 MHz - 1 Hz) time shifts (time delays Δt) aprox. 200000 ps.

·        A 360° phase shift means a complete cycle of the wave, so from the above calculation, we can say that a 360° phase shift or a complete cycle of a 5 MHz wave takes 200000 ps (0.0000002 s) to complete one cycle (1 Hz).

·        The caesium-133 atom used in atomic clocks vibrates at frequencies 9192631770 Hz on the ground and the GPS satellite clock advances faster than a clock on the ground by about 38 microseconds per day.

·        (i) For phase shift of a 9192631770 Hz wave time shifts (time delays Δt) aprox. 0.0000000003021743769660185 ms on the ground i.e. time shifts in a day 0.00002610786616986399 ms on the ground.

·        Time shift of the caesium-133 atomic clock above the ground:

(ii) For 360° phase shift or, 1 complete cycle (1 Hz), of a 9192631770 Hz wave; aprox. 0.00000010878277570776666 ms.

·        Time shift of the caesium-133 atomic clock in the GPS satellite in space:

(iii) For 1455.50003025° phase shift (or, 4.043055639583333 cycles) of a 9192631770 Hz wave; aprox. 0.0000004398148148148148 ms. time is taken (or, 0.038 milliseconds time is taken per day, or, 38 microseconds time is taken per day.)

vi.            Gravitational–Electromagnetic Interaction - Gravitational Redshift: The wavelength (λ) of electromagnetic radiation will lengthen as it climbs out of a gravitational well. Photons must expend energy to escape, but at the same time must always travel at the speed of light (c), so this energy must be lost through a change of frequency (f) rather than a change in speed (c). If the energy (E) of the photon decreases, the frequency (f) also decreases. This corresponds to an increase in the wavelength (λ) of the photon, or a shift to the red end of the electromagnetic spectrum, hence the name gravitational redshift.

z ~ GM/rc^2 

Where z is the gravitational redshift, G is Newton’s gravitational constant, M is the mass of the object, r is the photon’s starting distance from M, and c is the speed of light. In this case, the gravitational redshift suffered by a photon emitted from the star’s surface is a tiny 3 × 10^-4. In other words, wavelengths are shifted by less than one part in 30,000.

vii.            Gravitational field: Two masses (Earth ‘M’ and GPS Satellite ‘m’) separated by a distance (r) exert gravitational forces on one another. This is called action at-a-distance. They interact even though they are not in contact. When another body (say a ‘clock’) is brought in this field, it would experience gravitational force of attraction. Whereas, gravitational field intensity is the measure of gravitational field.

Gravitational field intensity or strength at a point is defined as the force experienced by a unit mass placed at that point. It is denoted by E. It is a vector quantity. Its unit is N kg^-1. By considering a body of mass M placed at a point Q and another body of mass m placed at P at a distance r from Q. The mass M develops a field E at P and this field exerts a force "F = mE." The gravitational force of attraction between the masses M and m is F = GMm/r^2. The gravitational field intensity at point P is E = F/m. Therefore, E = GM/r^2.

Therefore, a clock within the GPS Satellite would experience lesser Gravitational strength of E = GM/r^2 than it was experiencing it at the surface of the Earth M at a distance r0 from point Q, thus GM/r^2 < GM/r0^2.

viii.            Radiation gravitates - anything that carries energy, momentum and stresses is a source of a gravitational field. An electromagnetic field have its own gravitational field, because an electromagnetic field contains energy, momentum and so on, it is considered as a real thing capable of gravitating, as such, it will produce a gravitational field of its own. This gravitational field is in addition to that produced by the matter of the charge or magnet. Electric charges and magnets are manifestations of certain types of matter, most particularly electrons. Since matter carries energy (via E=mc^2), such objects will have a gravitational field and so they will curve the fabric of space. So, one way in which a charge or a magnet will curve the fabric of space is by virtue of its matter.

ix.            A clock and time are two different considerations. A clock does have mass but time doesn't.

x.            A clock mechanism 'always follows the order of time,' as it should never work arbitrary except the order of time, else a clock would cause wrong reading.

xi.            Gravitational effect on oscillation resulting corresponding time: Frequency and oscillation can never remain perfectly constant, as long as there is varying effects of gravity.

xii.            The events invoke time, when time is independent from eventual influences as such; free from all fundamental interactions.

xiii.            Existential events are necessary for time to exist. Time would be meaningless even for an existence but without events. There is existence of enormous mass and gravity in the core of a black hole, however, since there is no event; so time is a meaningless proposition there in the core of a black hole. xv.            The equation of time dilation " T'= T√ (1-V²/C²) " is wrong. The error in said equation is that time (T) can never be modified - through external interference or influence or interaction of real event like speed or gravity - to get Time Dilation (T’). It would be an illegal operation to try to modify cosmic time (T) progressing in its uniformed and irreversible succession. Speed or gravity can never interfere time (T) to get time dilation (T'). So called time dilation is rather wavelength (λ) dilation of the clock oscillation.  

xvi.            Time is a higher, fourth dimensional concept, imperceptible to lower, real and spatial three dimensions. A lower three-dimensional entity can never modify or interfere or influence a higher, fourth dimensional concept of time. However, a clock mechanism 'always follows the order of time.' Therefore, the concept of space-time is an absurd proposition by Albert Einstein.

Radiation gravitates - anything that carries energy, momentum and stresses is a source of a gravitational field, i.e. a curvature in the fabric of space:

An electromagnetic field have its own gravitational field, because an electromagnetic field contains energy, momentum (Maxwell's stress-energy tensor), and so on, it is considered as a real thing capable of gravitating, as such, it will produce a gravitational field of its own. This gravitational field is in addition to that produced by the matter of the charge or magnet. Electric charges and magnets are manifestations of certain types of matter, most particularly electrons. 

Since matter carries energy (via E=mc^2), such objects will have a gravitational field and so they will curve the fabric of space. So, one way in which a charge or a magnet will curve the fabric of space is by virtue of its matter.
