- The
wave moves a distance of one wavelength (λ) in one period of time (T).
- Since,
speed = distance/time.
- The
speed (v) of a wave is wavelength/period (v = λ/T).
- For
electromagnetic waves, c = λ/T.
- Since speed of light is constant (c), succession of time needs to be uniformed.
- Note Δt = T/360 (for 1° phase shift)
